You’re driving home from work and as you pull into your driveway, you notice that your roof shingles seem to be turning black. After doing a little bit of google searching, you discover that you have a case of roof mold. Not sure as to how serious it is, you climb up on your roof and check it out to see the damage. It doesn’t seem too bad so you want to try and tackle it yourself but haven’t the slightest idea of how to even begin this project. Well my friend, you have come to the right place. It’s pretty simple. We can get your roof back to brand spanking new in just a few easy steps.

Roof Mold Removal: Materials Needed

Here’s what you’re going to need for the roof mold removal process:

–        Basic Household bleach

–        Gloves

–        A 2 gallon bucket

–        Water

–        Trisodium Phosphate (TSP)

–        Handheld pump sprayer

Roof Mold Removal: Process

Before you get started, take your water hose and wet your plants and lawn that are closest to your house so that you can protect them from bleach damage!

Once you have those materials together, and have sprayed down your greenery, you can begin the actual roof mold removal process. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

  1. Wearing gloves, fill your bucket with ¼ chlorine bleach and ¾ water and add 1 tablespoon of TSP. Then put this solution into a handheld pump sprayer.
  2. Apply this solution to the molded roof tiles for roof mold removal and allow it to soak into the roof shingles for 15 minutes.
  3. Starting from the top shingles, rinse the shingles with a hose or a bucket of water. Check the shingles for excess slime by running your glove-covered hand over the infected area.

Repeat this process as necessary, waiting ten minutes in between each time. If the problem persists, contact a professional for necessary treatment.
